D选项是什么意思，A和B哪个是过去常常？
解释：这其实是use的被动语态形式。金属可以（被）制成机器或者其他别的东西。从后面的making来看前面要用介词for，如果是be used to的话，后面就要用动词原形了。A是过去常常。。。。D可以理解为被用作为。。。。
