编 者 说 明为帮助维修人员尽快提高专业英文水平， 沈阳 维修基地在二零零九年出版了 《航空维修专业英语 汇编》,并于二零一一年进行了一次修订。2011 版 下发使用三年以来， 基层单位员工给予我们许多反 馈意见和建议。为更好满足实际维修工作需求，我 们根据这些意见和建议，再次对手册进行修订。 本次修订增主要是根据我们制作的 《轻轻松松 背单词之民航篇》软件重新整理归纳了单词和例 句。 使本手册可以和软件相辅相成， 提高学习效率。 另外纠正了前版的一些问题。 希望大家能通过本手册熟悉航空维修专业英 语词汇和句式， 能够阅读并正确理解各种原文技术 资料,为高质量完成维修工作打好基础。 本手册的对象是已经具有一定的英语基础 （约 3，000 公共英语词汇和相应的语法知识）的机务 维修人员。 在本手册编写过程中得到各部门的热情帮助 和大力支持，在此谨表衷心感谢！ 由于编者水平有限， 本手册还有一些缺点和不 足，欢迎使用者继续提出宝贵意见和建议。 编 者 二零一四年三月

一．航空维修英语特点一．词汇 1． 航空维修专业词汇： 各行各业均存在本行业专业词汇， 航空维修专业词汇大 约有一千左右，本手册的大部分词汇均属于此类。 比如 slat 特指飞机前缘的缝翼，用于在低速时增加升 力。Fuselage 机身等等。 值得注意的是， 部分常用词， 在特定环境下有特定意义。 如：check valve 两个单词都很常见，但组合起来却是 “单向活门” ，不能望文生义译成“检查活门” 。 此类词汇除平时多注意积累外， 遇到不能理解或可能有 歧义的词汇必须查阅专业词典或询问有经验人员， 否则很容 易闹出笑话。 2． 一词多义现象： 英语属于拼音文字，字母不承担表达含义的作用。而为 所有新的概念组成新单词会造成单词数量过大，难以记忆。 只能一面增加新单词， 一面将原有单词的含义延伸或增加新 含义。这种情况就导致了一方面英语单词数量众多，没有一 万以上的单词量很难读懂报纸。 另一方面几乎所有单词都有 多种意义。 在航空维修专业里， 一个单词在不同的系统甚至不同的 附件中，都可能有各自的意义。 例如： Clear 做动词： 1 清除 Clear the dust from the surface. 清除表面的灰尘 2 允许 Clear to taxi.允许滑行― 1 ―做形容词 1 无障碍的 Make sure that the travel ranges of the flight control surfaces are clear before you pressurize/depressurize A hydraulic system. 在对液压系统增压/释压前，确保飞行操纵面行程 范围内无障碍。 2 没有 be clear of Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items. 确保工作区域干净且没有工具和其他物品。 3 透明的 remove the clear ice 清除透明冰 其它如 cable 基本含义为绳索 A 在机械专业中：钢索 Control cable B 在电气专业中： 电缆 Electrical Cable Cylinder 基本含义为圆柱体 A 在有气体的系统：气瓶 B 在液压系统：作动筒 Bus 基本含义为公共汽车，引申为运载（电流，数据） 的装置 A 在强电系统：汇流条 AC BUS B 在弱电系统：数据总线 DATA BUS switch 做名词时意为电门,做动词时意为转换. Open Close 在电路中,open 为断开, close 为闭合,接通 在油路中, open 为接通,打开, close 为关闭,关断― 2 ―这一组词在手册中很常见,却是很容易搞错的词汇。而 万一用错，就可能造成严重后果，甚至导致人员伤亡，一定 要特别加以注意。 对于这种情况，必须认真分析并结合上下文，谨慎判断 该词在本句中所要表达的具体含义。 3． 多词近义。 由于英语和汉语词汇的内涵和外延不能完全重合。 经常 会出现多词近义现象，需要认真区分其细微差异。 例如 indicator, annunciator, legend, display 都 有显示、指示的意思，其区别如下： Indicator (indication) 指示器（指示）显示数值， 数字式或传统表盘式 Annunciator (annunciation) 通告灯（通告牌）显示 一串彩色字符，提示某种状态或故障 Legend 字符灯 显示 ON, OFF, FAULT 等彩色 字符，简单提示某种状态或故障 Display 显示，显示器 通常指一块显示屏或其 上显示的内容 其它如 Oil 主要用于发动机及其附件的冷却和润滑， 液 态， 通译滑油 Lubricant 用于各种机械和附件的润滑和保养， 通常为 液态，通译为润滑剂 Grease 用于各种机械和附件的润滑和保养， 通常为 固态，通译为滑脂 实际工作中遇到类似问题，应根据上下文做出判断，如 必要应咨询有经验人员，甚至上飞机实地考察。― 3 ―二．句子 航空英语文句特点 1． 结构简单，很少有时态、语态变化 PUT A WARNING NOTICE IN THE FOLLOWING POSITION TO TELL PERSONS NOT TO OPERATE THESE PUSHBUTTON SWITCHES. 在以下位置上放置警告标牌以告知他人不要操作这些 按钮电门。 2． 祈使句居多 CUT A PIECE OF THE TAPE OF 25 MM (0.9842 IN.) X 40 MM (1.5748 IN.) AND PUT IT IN POSITION IN THE AREA OF THE PANEL FASTENER. 剪下一片 25 毫米 （0.9842 英寸） X40 毫米(1.5748 英寸) 的胶带，并把它放在面板紧固件区域 3． 格式标准化 MAKE SURE THAT THE WORK AREA IS CLEAN AND CLEAR OF TOOL(S) AND OTHER ITEMS. 确保工作区域干净且没有工具和其他物品。 4． 空客手册的部分编者母语非英语，有时句子有很生硬的 地方，不易理解 Open, safety and tag the following circuit breaker(s): safety 本为名词，但在本句中做动词使用，意为打保 险。三个动词共用一个宾语。此句直译为：将下列电路 跳开关断开，打保险并挂标牌。 在实际维修工作中，为方便理解，本句可意译为： 拔出下列电路跳开关，加保险夹并挂标牌。 5． 原文手册本身也可能有错误的地方，容易造成误解 例如：― 4 ―Remove the blanking plugs from the cabin recirculation fan (15), the sleeve (1) and from the check valve (7). 本句出自维护手册。在本手册 2009 版中译为“从客舱 再循环风扇（15）上拆下堵盖，并从单向活门（7）上拆下 衬套（1） 。 ” 本句中 and 和 from 两个单词并列让人无法理解。当时 我们认为可能是 and 的位置应放在 the sleeve 前。本次修 订时，编者重新查看了维修手册，找到了该部件的安装图， 经反复推敲，并向基层相关人员请教，最终判定，本句中的 from 为冗字，正确的翻译应为： 从客舱再循环风扇（15） 、衬套（1）和单向活门（7）上拆 下堵盖。 6． 原理部分有复杂的句子 维修人员使用的原文手册中操作原理部分和某些法规 性文件存在一些长达数十字甚至上百字的复句。 这些句子往 往比较重要，如产生误解会有一定不良后果，需要我们认真 分析。 对复句的理解不能从查生词开始。 因为一些词汇含义很 多， 而通用字典甚至某些专业字典不能完全覆盖我们需要的 专业释义。 首先我们应该确定句子的主要成分（主、谓、宾语） ， 然后判断各从句和修饰成分与主要成分的逻辑关系， 再根据 语言环境判断关键词的释义。经过这三个步骤，就可以基本 理解句子的含义了。接下来需要将之整理成通俗易懂的汉 语。才算完成对一个复句的正确翻译。 例句 1： Shenyang Maint. & Overhaul Base will not maintain or alter any article, which it is not rated, nor will it maintain or alter any article which it is rated if it― 5 ―requires special technical data, facilities that are not available.equipment,or首先我们应该看出这是两个并列分句， 以连词 nor 为分 界。主语是 Shenyang Maint. & Overhaul Base，两个分句 的谓语都是 will not maintain or alter，宾语都是 any article。对第一个分句，定语从句 which it is not rated, 是对宾语 article 的说明。对第二个分句，除了同样有一 个定语从句 which it is rated 修饰宾语外，还有一个 IF 开头的条件状语从句用来限制谓语的范围， 在这个条件状语 从句中，又包含一个定语从句 that is not available 修 饰 宾 语 special technical data, equipment, or facilities。 接下来再看词汇， 很明显 maintain 和 alter 应为维修 和改装，那么，作为其宾语的 article 就不可能表示“文 章”，而是应该指“项目”。Rate, 原义为划分等级，在这 里指的是维修站被批准的维修范围。 Shenyang Maint. & Overhaul Base will not maintain or 沈阳维修基地 不 维修 或 alter any article, for which it is not rated, nor will 改装 任何 项目， 不是被评定范围内的 也不 it maintain or alter any article for which it is rated 维修或改装 任何 项目 是被评定范围内的 if it requires special technical data, equipment, or 如果 它需要专用资料、设备 或 facilities that are not available. 设施 没有 现在整个句子基本上可以翻译为： 沈阳维修基地不会维修或改装不在其许可维修范围内 的任何项目，也不会在如果需要现在没有的专用资料、设备 或设施的的情况下， 维修或改装在其许可维修范围内任何项 目。― 6 ―显然这样的直译不符合汉语习惯。 我们可以将它再整理 一下使之通顺易懂： 沈阳维修基地不会维修或改装不在其许可维修范围内 的任何项目，也不会维修或改装在其许可维修范围内，但所 需的专用资料、设备或设施不具备的任何项目。 例句 2： ALL POINTS, WHEN NOT IN USE, HAVE HOIST POINT PLUGS INSTALLED WHICH FIT FLUSH WITH THE NACELLE SURFACE AND IN ADDITION, PREVENT FOREIGN OBJECTS FROM ENTERING AND LODGING IN THE HOIST POINT OPENINGS. 在维护手册中，所有警告和告诫信息均为大写，用来强 调这些信息的重要性。如果不遵守这些信息，会导致人员或 设备损伤。因此，能够迅速准确阅读全文大写的句子也是机 务维修人员的基本功之一。 本句中，主语为 ALL POINTS，谓语 HAVE, 宾语 HOIST POINT PLUGS，WHEN NOT IN USE 是时间状语从句用于限定 谓语，定语 INSTALLED 和定语从句 WHICH FIT FLUSH WITH THE NACELLE SURFACE IN ADDITION, PREVENT FOREIGN OBJECTS FROM ENTERING AND LODGING IN THE HOIST POINT OPENINGS 用来修饰宾语.定语从句本身也由两个分句构成。 HOIST POINT 意为起吊点，PLUG 堵塞，FLUSH 在这里 是副词， 译为平齐地。 NACELLE 为发动机短舱。 LODGING 本 意 为 容 纳 ， 存 放 ， 在 这 里 根 据 前 面 的 名 词 FOREIGN OBJECTS(外来物)，可译为残留。 ALL POINTS, WHEN NOT IN USE, HAVE HOIST POINT PLUGS 所有点， 在不使用的时候 有 起吊点堵塞 INSTALLED WHICH FIT FLUSH WITH THE NACELLE SURFACE AND 安装的 与 短舱表面平齐 且 IN ADDITION, PREVENT FOREIGN OBJECTS FROM ENTERING AND 也 防止 外来物 进入 并― 7 ―LODGING IN THE HOIST POINT OPENINGS. 残留 在起吊点 开口。 直译： 所有点在不使用时,都装有齐平于发动机短舱表面的同 时能防止外来物进入并残留在吊点开口里的起吊器堵塞。 意译： 当不使用时,所有点都装有起吊点堵塞,它们与发动机 短舱表面平齐, 还能防止外来物进入并残留在吊点开口里。― 8 ―二、维修工作基础词汇1 ORGANIZATION & FUNCTION 组织机构及职能 CSN Maintenance & Engineering Div.
