正则是什么概念?物理学中的,英文是canonical,不是计算机里用的regular expression.

(1) 其实这主要是翻译问题,将canonical 和regular 翻译成“正则”都是意译“正则”最早见于《离骚》“名余曰正则兮,字余曰灵均”,王逸在《楚辞章句》里的解释“正,平也；则,法也……言正平可法则者,莫过于天……”也就是说,“正则”在汉语里的意思是“正规；常规”.《西游补》第一回：“七龄孔子,帐中鸣蟋蟀之音；二八曾参,阶下拜荔枝之献.胡为乎不讲此正则也?”茅盾《追求》八：“一个月前,我还想到五年六年甚至十年以后的我,还有一般人所谓想好好活下去的正则的思想.”而canonical 和regular在他们的拉丁语前身则都与rule有关,canonical的字面意思就是rule,而regular则与rule同形,可见他们与“正则”的意思相近的.Canonical在数学物理上意思是”standardexample”,”distinguished representative of a class”所以偏向于“具有代表意义,剔除了所有无关因素”的意思,比如正则坐标,正则方程等等Regular则更倾向于“标准,常规”有人为制定的意思.(2) 另外一个有意思的事情是：在日语中,regular 和“正则”有同样的联系,请看以下例子：正则関数：holomorphicfunction正则空间：regular space正则行列：non-singularmatrix正则表现：regularexpression所以我个人认为汉语的叫法可能受了日语影响,不过日语里カーノニカル(canonical)做了音译,而汉语里仍然是意译.
