如果希望孩子英语拔尖，最重要的是提供一个优秀的英语环境！
优秀的英语环境必须具备两个条件。首先，英文质量必须要好，不能是随便弄出来专卖给非英语国家赚钱的东西；第二，必须要吸引住孩子，能令孩子全心投入。
想为幼儿提供这样的条件现在已非常简单，网上有大量优秀的免费资源随便挑选，絶大部分孩子都会看得全神贯注。时间一久，也就水到渠成了。但要为有自主意识的大孩子提供好的英语环境就不一样了。好的资源虽然也很多，但大孩子已习惯了中文，刚开始接触英文时很容易产生抵触感。再好的资源，往往是眼睛看着，耳朵听着，嘴巴念着，手里写着，心不在焉，全不入脑。花再多的时间，也只是纯浪费。如果希望效果好，关键是要提供一个孩子真正会沉浸其中的英语环境，而不是迫孩子在那里虚应故事。
我想了很久，想到了两个较好的方法，一个省钱，另一个省心。
第一个方法是父母和孩子一起去找孩子真正喜欢的英语资源。这方面我并不能提供太具体的建议。孩子一大，各有不同，甲之良药可以是乙之砒霜。但我可以提供一些大致的方向。
最有希望吸引孩子的，是孩子本身已感兴趣的主题。比如说孩子如果迷某位外国明星，对那位明星的各种报导就可以在考虑之列。或者孩子喜欢日本卡通，英文版的日本卡通也可以是探索的方向之一。又或孩子喜欢电玩，英文电玩和游戏天书亦可尝试一下。我就有朋友因迷上日本模型而学会看日文说明书，又有朋友因喜欢上法国同学而学会说法文。
其次，是在国外流行的少儿节目，剧集，电影，或书籍。比如说哈利波特，当年热火朝天的时候我就听到好几个朋友说他们念小学和初中的孩子竟自发的看完了那好几本厚如砖头的英文书。这不只是美国的小朋友，香港，台湾和国内的也有好几个（但却没有日本的，我那些日本同学的孩子好像都只看日文版，就算爸妈英文再好也没乘机培养一下，很奇怪）。找的时候可以参考附上的书目和流行儿童电视节目名单:
这个方法不花什么钱，其实也满简单，但父母要付出心血和耐性，才有可能成功。首先，絶大部分父母都没有那么了解孩子，孩子本身也不可能对自己了解得那么透彻。要找到孩子真正兴趣之所在，需要一段过程。在找到了之后，还要在相关的英语资源中找出适合孩子程度的，又是一段崎岖不平的路，充满挫折。父母如果耐性不足，很可能试几下就放弃了。
但只要能坚持不懈，找到能吸引孩子的资源，每天一至两小时，两三年内虽然到国外留学或生活还是会困难重重，但在国内英语成绩拔尖已絶不是问题，托福、雅思也只需稍加操练，就能轻易过关（前提是孩子真的喜欢，不能是在迎合大人）。
第二个方法就是为孩子找个好的英语老师以小班的形式上课（不多于八名学生，八名学生以上的效果实在太差）。找的老师必须英语听说读写都没问题，并且懂得第二语言教学。这个方法虽然相对简单，却较昂贵。只适合经济较寛裕，或计划让孩子出国留学的家长。方案的困难之处，在于即使家长经济上可以负担，找一个好老师也是非常耗时费力的。不管中教外教，稍有不慎，就会被宰，变成花钱去浪费孩子的时间和精力。所以必须自己用心和花费一定的时间去检测和挑选老师。
家长即使自己不会英文，要分辨老师的英语能力也不难。可以导出一段有中文翻译的CNN或BBC的新闻，又或是美国著名大学上课录像的音频，来测试老师的听力；用一段有中文翻译的SAT阅读试题考核老师的阅读。写的方面可以随便想个题目，让老师写一个段落，以自己的名义发到论坛请别人帮忙看看。中教和外教都可以用这种方法测试，但有些外教的程度之低可能会吓你一跳。
至于第二语言教学方面，中国老师只要英文过关，不会有什么问题。他们自己本身学过，加上受的培训和工作经验都是在这个领域，教学能力一般都很强。外教就完全不一样了。在中国，很多外教本身听说读写都不行（不是来自英语国家或没受过高等教育），更不要说是教学培训了，并且絶大部分都不是英语专业的。
找中教的最大难处，是英文能力逹目标老师严重不足。国内确实有一批英语能力高的老师，但人数实在太少，在家附近能找到一位的机会很低。至于找外教，也没容易到那里去。中国国内很少有专业的外教，絶大部分都只是靠家长的无知赚钱。所以家长在选择时，必须仔细和慎重，方有可能找到一个真正专业的老师。

我的孩子15岁,上初三。英语一直是薄弱科目,给他买过书虫系列,不太感兴趣,没坚持阅读多久,初二时迷上了电影《魔戒》,我给他买来了原版书,只读了几页,可能是对于他太难了。楼主能否给推荐几部适合精学精读的电影,我让孩子在其中选一选他喜欢的。哈里波特他不喜欢。
宫崎骏和迪士尼的动画电影都可以让他看看，看是否有他喜欢的。《魔戒》确实不太适合孩子阅读，我当年看的时候也是看的很吃力的，主要是那里面有很多不知道是什么的生物名称。&

我家孩子就是从第四本还是第五本起同步看完了《哈利波特》原版书。从初一开始看这套原版，当时已经看过了前面的三本中文版，小学时看的，超级哈利波特迷。这套书，和后来陆续上映的电影，在我儿子的生活中和英语学习中占到了里程碑式的作用。几乎是除了起步之后，就是新概念二和哈利波特把孩子的英语从入门一直推到娴熟。强烈推荐给各位同学！
