介词above只有一个意思“在……之上”,而介词on和over,表面意思和它几乎完全一样,用法上却有细微的差别,而且在句子中频频出来捣乱,很是让我们头疼.先看一个例子：There is an apple on the table.桌上有一只苹果.在这里我们就只能用on这个词,如果在本句中用了above,这只苹果就一定是已经修炼千年成了正果,因为此时这句的意思是“桌上‘悬’着一只苹果（苹果和桌子不接触）”.因此我们可以知道above(在……上方)：表示地理空间位置,无“垂直”之意,可指“高于……”,但不接触另一物,它的反义词是below；而on(在……上面),表示与另一物体相接触,反义词beneath.见到over作“在……上方”讲时,指一个物体在另一物体的垂直上方,而且它总含有“覆盖于……之上”之意,例如：all over the world全世界；a bridge over a river架在河上的桥.它的反义词是under.而above就没有“覆盖”的特点且不一定是在某物的正上方.好了,三个具有相同意思“在……的上面”的词above和on,over之间的区别.above和on的区别在于两个物体是否接触,而above和over的区别在于,主要后者有“覆盖于……”的意思.above,over都可表示“在…之上”.above一般表示“在上面,高于”,不一定垂直； over表示在…正 上方,强调垂直在…之上.below,under皆可表示在…之下.below表示非垂直并不与表面接触的下方；under表示垂直并不与表面接触的下方； 总结：above（在…上）与below（在…下）在意义上是相对的,相同点是,两者都表示物体位置上或下不垂直的关系； over（在…上）与under（在…下）在意义上是相对的,相同点是,两者都表示物体位置上或下垂直的关系.
