how are,there are, whereit连读 are可以连读吗

One thing that I have to stress over and over to my students is that American English has a standard pronunciation. At the same time, however, there are aspects of pronunciation that are normal, but that kind of break standard pronunciation rules.
There is a difference between phonetic-standard pronunciation and how people commonly speak.
Today we will look at a few simple sentences and look at how these sentences are commonly spoken in every day speech.
How are you?
How-er-you?
How-er-ya-do-in?
What is going on?
Whats-go-in-on?
Whas-goin-on?
What do you have going on tonight?
Wha-d'you-have-go-in-on-tonight?
Let's go check out what they are doing.
Les-go-ch-kout-what-there-do-in.
TIP: You're probably wondering, “How do you know how and when to link?” There are some general patterns for sure. I talk about a few of these in my American Accent training class—check that out for more details. However, probably the easiest thing you can do is to try to listen for the pure sound of words when people speak.
Basically, you need to do 2 things:
1)Listen for the pure sound of their speech
2)Try to understand the standard pronunciation
You must keep the standard pronunciation in your mind along with the way people actually say it (i.e. “want to” vs. “wanna”).
Another thing you can do is:
Watch a few seconds of a video with the subtitles on.
Compare what you hear with the subtitles you see.
Hope the practice and the tips help a bit! Thanks for joining me this week.
Until next time…

不知道你在哪里看到的——how are中,音变w和后面的are连读。

eg. I’m~an~English boy. It~is~an~old book.Let me have~a look~at~it.Ms Blackworkedin~an~officeyesterday.Put~it~on,please.Not~at~all.Please pick~it~up.2. “r/re+元音”型连读如果前一个词是以-r或者-re结尾,后一个词是以元音开头,这时的r或re不但要发/r/,而且还要与后面的元音拼起来连读。eg. They’re my father~and mother.I looked for~it here~and there. There~is a football under~it.There~are some books on the desk. Here~is a letter for you. Here~are four~eggs. But where~is my cup?Where~are your brother~and sister? The black clouds are coming nearer and nearer.(nearer与and不可连读)3.“辅音+半元音”型连读英语语音中的/j/和/w/是半元音,如果前一个词是以辅音结尾,后一个词是以半元音,特别是/j/开头,此时也要连读。eg. Thank~you.Nice to meet~you.Did~you get there late~again?Would~you like~a cup~of tea?Could~you help me, please?“音的同化”—常把/d/+/j/读成/dV/,did you听上成了/dIdVu/,would you成了 /wudVu/,could you成了 /kudVu/4.“元音+元音”型连读如果前一个词以元音结尾,后一个词以元音开头,这两个音往往也要自然而不间断地连读到一起。eg. I~am Chinese. He~is very friendly to me.She wants to study~English. How~and why did you come here? She can’t carry~it.It’ll take you three~hours to walk there. The question is too~easy for him to answer.5. Is~it a~hat or a cat?(hat与or之间不可以连读)There~is~a good book in my desk. (book与in之间不可以连读)Can you speak~English or French? (English与or之间不可以连读)Shall we meet at~eight or ten tomorrow morning? (meet与 at,eight与or之间不可以连读)She opened the door and walked~in. The girl in the re(d) coat was on a bla(ck) bike jus(t) now.The bi(g) bus from the fa(c) tory is full of people.Wha(t) time does he get up every morning? This is an ol(d) pi(c)ture of a bi(g) car.The ol(d) do(c)tor has a ca(t), too. We’re going to work on a farm nex(t) Tuesday. What would you like, ho(t) tea or bla(ck) coffee? It’s a very col(d) day, but it’s a goo(d) day.You can put i(t) down in the bi(g) garden.I bought a chea(p) book, but it’s a goo(d) book.2.“爆破音+摩擦音”型如果前面是爆破音,其后紧跟着某些摩擦音(如/f/,/s/,/W/,/T/等),那么前面那个爆破音仅有十分轻微的爆破,而后面那个摩擦音则要完全爆破。eg. Goo(d) morning, Mr. Bell.Uncle Li’s fa(c)tory is qui(te) near to the cinema.I wen(t) there alone a(t) nine las(t) night.-Do you know his bi(ke) number? -Sorry, I don’(t) know. The forty-firs(t) lesson is qui(te) difficult.Goo(d) luck, Lin Tao. 弱读的规则一般是:元音音节弱化成 [E],如单词 for, from, to, some, am, do, have, does强式 [fC:] [frC:m] [tU:] [sQm] [Am] [dU:] [hAv] [dQz]弱式 [f[] [fr[m] [t[] [s[m] [[m] [d[] [h[v] [d[z]五、英音和美音的差异由于美音的流行,四级考试听力也以美音为主,但是,由于历史的原因,我国大多数英语教师的发音,仍然以英音为主,所以,我们脑海中根深蒂固的英式发音,可能和磁带中的发音不一致,进而造成四级听力中的障碍。 在ask, can't, dance, fast, path 这一类的单词中,英国人将字母a 读作[a:],而美国人则读作[ae],所以这些词在美国人口中就成了[Ask][kAnt][dAns][fAst]和[pB:W]。 1. However, last Saturday I was involved in an accident there, when numerous cans fell onto my head from a top shelf. My head was cut in several places and I had to be taken to hospital. I believe that the accident was caused by the cans being incorrectly placed on the shelves.I would suggest that your staff take a lot more care in future when they place products on shelves. Also, it might be a good idea to avoid placing heavier items on top shelves in future, so that injuries like mine are avoided if items do fall off.I am sure that the accident was not caused by any wish to harm anyone and will not be taking the matter further, but I would like your assurance that measures have been taken to prevent similar problems in the future. In this essay, I shall suggest why this might be the case. One reason may be that these skills have not been passed on from one generation to the next. In the past, children spent fewer years at school, so they would probably have had more time to learn skills from their parents. Nowadays, there is more of a focus on academic qualifications, to suit the needs of the modern economy. However, in my country, handicrafts and home repairs are still taught at schools and many students learn them after leaving secondary school.Another reason might be that some things, such as home repairs, require more skill than in the past. Therefore, many people may prefer to hire a specialist rather than attempt the work themselves. At the same time, people may decide that their time is better spent on other things, such as their own work. In my country, it is common for people to do some repairs or other work themselves, but to use a person with specialist knowledge for more complex work. For example, many people put up shelves by themselves, but get an electrician to rewire their homes.Another factor could be cost. Nowadays, in my country, people have greater disposable incomes, so they can afford to pay someone else to do work for them. In the past, this was not possible for most people. Many people who do the work themselves nowadays do it as a hobby, so the cost of hiring someone is not the issue for them. To summarize, there are several reasons why people might not make their own clothes or make repairs in their own homes nowadays. However, in my country, many people still do them, for a variety of reasons. (316 words)

The table below shows the proportion of different categories of families living in poverty in Australia in 1999.The information given by the table is about the percentage of different types ofpoverty-stricken households in Australia in the year of 1999.On average, 11% of all households, comprising almost two million people, were in this position. However, those consisting of one parent or a single adult had almost doubled this proportion of poor people, with 21% and 19% respectively.Couples generally tended to be better, with lower poverty levels for couples without children (7%) than those with children (12%). It is noticeable that for both types of household with children, higher than average proportion were living in poverty at this time. In contrast, older people were generally less likely to be poor, only 4% for aged couple, and 6% for single aged person respectively.Overall, the table suggests that households of single adults and those with children were more likely to be living in poverty than those consisting of couples. Compare the advantages and disadvantages of three of the following as media for communicating information. State which you consider to be the most effective.*comic *books *radio *television *film *theatre雅思写作范文:With the progress of mankind’s culture, people communicate information each other in more and more various way, including books, radio, television and so forth. Lots of benefits withstanding, shortcoming also can not be neglected for these three ways.Firstly, book is a familiar word that most people prefer. Lots of people have hobbies of reading books for the reason that book is a place where writers can exchange their own viewpoints or theories to readers and readers can also know about the personalities of writer. Nevertheless, books do not have the quality of time efficiency and just represent some certain persons’ view.In terms of radio, apart from newspapers, radio may be the cheapest way for people to keep pace with the news or information. Just one radio is what we need to listen to broadcasting for communicating. And we can do many other things such as driving, riding while we are listening to the radio. However, radio can just satisfy our senses of hearing because of its lack of screen. Finally, for the television, TV has the quality of time efficiency and satisfies our visual senses. Television is a place where there is always much information for us to realize or communicate with each other. We can communicate the views on TV with ours while we enjoy the TV programs or news. But TV is always too sophisticated for the kids, particularly some violent or blue scenes do really have bad impacts on children. In conclusion, I think TV would be the most effective way of these three ways for people to communicating information each other on condition that Some related legislation could be so perfect in the future that violent or blue scenes could be restricted.

In the past, many people had skills such as making their own clothes and doing repairs to things in the house. In many countries, nowadays, skills like these are disappearing. Why do you think this change is happening? How far is this situation true in your country? a)题目分析,包括写作中需要涉及的要点以及考生可能对题目产生的错误理解。 In the past, people would usually make their own clothes or make repairs around the home themselves, but this is less common nowadays in my country. However, in my country, handicrafts and home repairs are still taught at schools and many students learn them after leaving secondary school. Another reason might be that some things, such as home repairs, require more skill than in the past. Therefore, many people may prefer to hire a specialist rather than attempt the work themselves. At the same time, people may decide that their time is better spent on other things, such as their own work. In my country, it is common for people to do some repairs or other work themselves, but to use a person with specialist knowledge for more complex work. For example, many people put up shelves by themselves, but get an electrician to rewire their homes. Another factor could be cost. (316 words)

1 The line graphs compares the annual population between foreign tourist in UK and native settlements travelling aboard from 1990 to 1999, coupled with a bar chart concretely depicting these residents’ allocation within a several range of countries in 1999. To begin with, considering these two decades’ development, the number of travelling output of residents always larger and was of high growth than the input of alien visitors. Albeit, on the threshold, with natives slightly more than foreigners(12 versus 10 million), the former subsequently had a steeper mount at the next seven years. Thereafter, from 1982 onwards, in spite of a little promotion to overseas coming, the trend of domestic natives leaving dramatically surged, resulting that until 1999, there were approximate twice as many visitors to(53 million) as visitors from(27 million) in the end. In addition, in terms of the favorite countries for UK travelers in 1999, it was France, accounting for over 10 million proportion that was granted the highest popularity, followed by Spain, less than 10 million. The rest is USA(4.5 million), Greece(4 million) and Turkey(3.5 million), respectively, whose populations as a whole solely was roughly equal to France in particular. To sum up, the trace of UK natives going overseas both frequently kept higher and was of faster unparalleled increase than the alien visitors. Moreover, in the view of British tourists’ options, most was France relished.
剑桥雅思6写作test4小作文题目:The charts below give information about USA marriage and divorce rates between 1970 and 2000, and the marital status of adult Americans in two of the years.范文:The first chart depicts how the number of married and divoced peoeple changed in sketch between 1970 and 2000. The number of married adults ran high at 2.5 million and remained the same till 1980, when it started to go down to 2.0 million eventually in 2000. By contrast, though substantially lower than those in marriage, people suffering a broken marriage generally stayed a stable level of 1.0 million except a sharp rise to approximately 1.5 million in 1980 during this entire period.According with the result revealed in the first chart, the status of being married (60-70%) was still a mainstream accepted by adults against other marital statusesnever married, divorced and widowed. Those were generally lower than 20% or 10%. Interestingly, while the second chart tells a corresponding trend of decline from 70% to 60%, when we view the figure of the married in proportion, the change of divorced people contradicted what is indicated in the first chart, increasing drastically from nearly 3% to 9%.Overall, the statistic results may vary vastly if it is viewed from different angles.大作文题目:Change or not changeYou should spend about 40 minutes on this task.Write about the following topic:1.Some people prefer to spend their lives doing the same things and avoiding change. Others, however, think that change is always a good thing.2.Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.3.Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.Write at least 250 words.范文1:This model has been prepared by an examiner as an example of a very good answer. However, please note that this is just one example out of many possible approaches.Over the last half century the pace of change in the life of human beings has increased beyond our wildest expectations. This has been driven by technological and scientific breakthroughs that are changing the whole way we view the world on an almost daily basis. This means that change is not always a personal option, but an inescapable fact of life, and we need to constantly adapt to keep pace with it.Those people who believe they have achieved some security by doing the same, familiar things are living in denial. Even when people believe they are resisting change themselves, they cannot stop the world around them from changing. Sooner or later they will find that the familiar jobs no longer exist, or that the ‘safe’ patterns of behaviour are no longer appropriate.However, reaching the conclusion that change is inevitable is not the same as assuming that ‘change is always for the better’. Unfortunately, it is not always the case that new things are promoted because they have good impacts for the majority of people. A lot of innovations are made with the aim of making money for a few. This is because it is the rich and powerful people in our society who are able to impose changes (such as in working conditions or property developments) that are in their own interests.In conclusion, I would say that change can be stimulating and energising for individuals when they pursue it themselves, but that all change, including that which is imposed on people, does not necessarily have good outcomes.范文2:In modern society, there are two types of lives. Some people like to lead a stable life, without change. Others prefer changing to static. Both kinds of people have their admittedly reasons to support themselves.The ones who advocate steady life is comfortable give their points as follows. First of all, long-term of work can provide a reliable source of income. Changing jobs frequently maybe hard for a family to live comfortable. Secondly, movement of home is quite usual. This activity can cost you a great deal of finance to deal with this problem. Besides, shuttling among different kinds of job cannot make you gather the experience of a type of subject. Because you often change the way to face the subjects while changing your jobs. After few decades, you may still a freshman in your job.On the contrary, audacious young people like changable life much better than the people above who are interested in steadly life. They are convinced that diversity of life is a treasure of our experience. When we grow more mature in considering questions. What's more, when we change our life styles, we indeed get a quality of how to adapt new life. According to the mental research,people who own adaption ability may hardly feel lonely, and the risk of develop psychologic illness can be dicreased. So changing lives can groom the qualities of youngsters.For my part, I would like to share the last point of view. Because I am a young man now, so changing life is a good opportunity for the people like me to join into the society and develop the ability of adapting new life styles.}
