中国计算机学会评出的人工智能和模式识别中的四大顶级期刊之一，2013年的影响因子已经提高了很多（IF：3.42）。
1. 该期刊的editor非常的热心，审稿速度还可以。
2. 审稿人的意见非常多，但是非常的切中要害。
3. 由于中间修改了四次（英语写的太烂了，改了很多次），从投稿到最终发表，花了9个月。 （这速度算很慢的了，一般JMLR从投稿到接受只需要三四个月）。

虽然IF只有不到3，但在我心目中是ML最顶级的期刊，完爆PAMI...
PAMI毕竟是IEEE的期刊，所以更侧重于应用。
JMLR是CS的期刊，基本上每篇文章20页起，几乎每篇文章都有有若干的定理证明。这也正体现出CS和EE的差别：
EE的更注重结果：我提出一个idea，创新性挺高，实验结果也很nb，we are happy~
CS则不仅仅看重结果，看创新性，更重要的是，我要从理论上证明我的方法牛逼，比如算法的convergence，performance的upper/lower bound，所以里面往往有很多数学推到（尼玛有时候记文章里面的符号就得记好长时间。。。而实验结果仅仅是辅助说明我的theory的。）
所以从难度而言，JMLR绝对要大于PAMI。
可能是JMLR过于理论，文章往往比PAMI晦涩，在一定程度上影响了它的citation，这可能也是为什么他IF不高的原因。但是这个期刊的reputation是非常高的，基本上国外的大牛们都是以投JMLR为目标的，我老板也是首选JMLR，其次才是PAMI。。。
从另一个方面看，现在国内灌PAMI已经不是太大的问题的，N多学校都有了PAMI，但是有JMLR的还是凤毛麟角的~
