3秒自动关闭窗口English Department, one of the largest departments in Shanghai Industry and Commerce Foreign Languages College, currently has around 1000 students and a total of 2802 graduates with an employment rate of 97%. The Department has a highly-qualified full-time teaching staff totaling 22, and 76.2% of these staff members are MA degree holders. Every year, the Department employs several instructors from the US, UK or other English speaking countries. Besides, it has several counselors to help students with both personal and work problems.The programs for English majors fall into three main categories: Business English, Tourism English and English for Scientific and Technological Purposes, which place particular stress on the integration of the language skills and the know-how in the fields of business, tourism and high technology.Over the eight years since its establishment in 2001, faculty in the Department have published dozens of articles and books. The textbook Vocational College English won a third prize in Shanghai Municipal textbook evaluation. The teaching reform of Business English is a pilot project of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and had a successful evaluation in June 2008.With a view to creating and maintaining a favorable English-learning atmosphere, the Depar-tment, assisted by the relevant organizations on the campus, designed and carried out a series of colorful extracurricula English activities for the students. These activities include Singing English Song, Short Play Show, English Speech Contest and English Corner, which contri-bute a great deal to the students' progress in English. A number of students have received awards for their excellent performances at the national and municipal English contests.English Department is making great strides with education, research, and service to the city's economic development as its primary goals.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------英语系是2001年上海工商外国语学院成立之初就设立的一个系,也是学院的一个大系。英语系已培养了六届毕业生共2802人,平均就业率保持在97%左右。英语系经过几年的努力,已建立起了一支结构较为合理、发展潜力较大、个人素质良好的师资队伍。目前,专职教师共有22名,专职教师中76.2%拥有硕士以上学位,其中有近60%教师参加过全国高职高专师资培训,获“双师”素质证书。自2001年以来,先后聘请英国、美国、加拿大等国的英语教师10多人来系任教。此外,英语系还配备了多名专职辅导员,保证了学生工作有序、高效地进行。英语系教师除了承担教学任务外,还积极从事科研和教学改革等工作,并取得可喜的成果。自2004年以来,有近20名教师参与了各类英语教材编写,主编出版教材近20部。《高等院校实用英语听说教程》2007年获上海市优秀教材三等奖。英语系商务英语专业2003年3月被确立为上海市高职高专教学改革试点专业,于2008年6月顺利通过验收鉴定。2007年11月《情景体验式英语教学中的听说技能培养》被批准为国家社会科学基金项目“体验式英语教学理论与实践”的子课题。英语系一直致力于探索高职高专复合型、应用型外语人才的有效培养模式,着力点一直放在夯实学生的专业基础和培养学生能力上。不仅抓好课堂教学,而且大力开展“第二课堂”活动和学生社团活动;爱心学校、助残帮困、认养小鹿、绿色环保、“特奥会”志愿者活动等都有很好的社会效应。 “英语角”、“英语短剧表演” 、“英语特色班”活动等连续不断,各种形式的英语竞赛活动定期开展。在教师悉心培养和指导下,英语系学生在上海乃至全国英语大赛中获得了多项好名次。2003年01级学生在全国高等学校应用英语考试A级中,名列全市68所高职院校榜首;2003年3月英语系学生获得外研社杯全国英语辩论赛华东区第一名,全国总决赛第六名;2004年英语系学生获全国首届高职高专实用英语口语演讲比赛上海赛区第一名,全国比赛三等奖。2005年11月,在第二届全国高职高专实用英语口语大赛中,我院学生获上海赛区第一名,全国比赛二等奖;同时,我院被大赛组委会授予“最佳培养奖”。2005年11月在第十一届“21世纪·澳门之星杯”?全国英语演讲比赛东部地区总决赛中,英语系学生在包括、、等31所院校强手如林的激烈角逐中,获二等奖。2006年10月,英语系学生获第三届高职高专实用英语口语演讲比赛上海赛区第一名,使我院连续第三年在该项赛事中取得上海赛区第一名。2008年5月,英语系学生获上海市首届高职高专实用英语作文竞赛一等奖,我院荣获优秀组织奖。2009年5月英语系选派5位选手参加“上海市第二届高职高专实用英语(阅读)比赛”,一位学生总分排列第一,获专业组特等奖,一位学生获专业组一等奖,排一等奖的第一名,三位学生获得专业组二等奖。他们的骄人成绩为我校赢得了荣誉。
