The area of desert in the world is growing every year. Many parts of the world which once had large populations and produced plenty of crops, have become deserts. Dunhuang in China, deep in the heart of the Gebi Desert, was once a great city.Cattle are one cause of the problem. In good years, famers increase the numbers of their cattle. Then one year, the rains fail to come. The farmers do not want to kill any of their cattle, so the cattle eat ail the grass and anything that grows on poorer land. If this continues for several years, the grass never grows again and the land becomes a desert. One suggested answer is for farmers to limit the numbers of their cattle.Another problem is that good soil is gradually lost. When trees are cut down, there is nothing to hold the soil in place on the hillside. So when if rains, the soil is washed down the hills and into the rivers. Strong winds can also blow away the valuable soil that lies on the top of the fields.地球本是多方位，包罗万象的，但作者从地球的沙漠化方面考虑，列举了造成此情况的原因，暗示人类要注意这个严重的问题。这是一篇很好的原因& 结果式文章。先陈述结果，后列举原因。地球世界上沙漠的面积每年都在扩大，许多地区曾经人口众多，五谷丰登，而今却成了沙漠。中国的敦煌曾经是一个大城市，而现在却深深陷入戈壁滩的腹地。造成戈壁滩的原因之一是牲畜问题。年景好时，农民就增加牲畜饲养的头数。后来有一年天没有下雨，农民又不想把牲畜杀掉。因此，牲畜就把草和更加贫瘠的土地上所长的任何东西全都吃光。这种情况如果继续几年，那么，草就再也长不出来了，土地也就变成了沙漠。有人提出的解决办法是让农民限制饲养牲畜的数量。另外一个问题就是沃土逐渐流失。树木被砍伐了，山坡上就没有什么东西能够把土壤保持住了。因此，下雨的时候，土壤从山上被冲刷下来，流到河里去了。大风也可能把田地表面的肥沃土壤刮走。1&&&&

【摘要】：正Microbiotic organisms are referring to the lichens,algae,cyanobactia and bryophytes. Such organisms are distributed everywhere on the hard surface of the world,including the polars, boreals,tropicals.In addition,they are usually dominant organisms of deserts,including the tropical desert,mid-latitude desert,and cold desert.The desert can be divided into rock desert, stone desert,and sandy desert.

What are the small things that we need to do to protect the earth? Now,as our society develops rapidly, the cost of this development becomes higher and more serious. Our environment is getting worse. So some actions need to be taken to avoid the worst result.Many people think they can do nothing significantly influential because they have so little power. However, there are still some small things happeing in the daliy life where we can do properly to stop damaging the earth, such as turning the lights off when you don't use it, or taking only one piece of paper towel after washing your hands. We should also get used to not throwing the garbage everywhere especially plastic bags and electronic devices. Also not wasting paper and using more environmental friendly products. And there're many more. These details may seem nothing, but they can do a lot to the environment and the earth. So, these good habbits should be maintained and encouraged, not just for earth, but also for our future. 我们都应该从哪些小事着手来保护地球？现金，当我们的社会飞速发展，相对的我们付出的代价也越来越高，越来越严重。所以我们必须采取一些行动来阻止最坏的结果。很多人都认为他们做不了具有重要影响意义的事来，因为自己的能力有限。但是在日常生活中，有很多小事我们可以正确的完成来防止损害地球。像不用时关灯，洗手后只用一张手纸。我们还要习惯不随地扔垃圾，尤其是塑料或是电子制品。不要浪费纸张，尽量选购环保产品，等等。这些小细节也许看起来不重要，但是他们却对保护环境和地球有着很大的作用。所以这些习惯应该坚持提倡，不仅为了地球，更是为了我们的明天。
　虽然世界多开发更快、更好的资源,在地球上得到越来越少。为了保护他们,必须做些什么。　　　　节约用水。水是生命的源泉。没有水就没有生命。所以对我们来说很重要去这么做。我们不仅要保护饮用水和停止污染,而且充分利用它。　　　　省电。这是至关重要的。我们不能想象那是什么样的生活就会像没有它。每个人都应该尽其所能的省电。出门的时候,可别忘了关掉灯或其他电器机械我们做完了工作。　　　　拯救森林。他们都是有用的,请停止削减了下去,而不是使用再生纸。让我们的世界一条绿色的生活了。　　　　回收有用的垃圾。大量的垃圾可以循环再造一样喜欢罐子、纸张、瓶子、等等。我们可以节约资源以这种方式。
Although the world develops much faster and better, the resources on the earth get fewer and fewer.In order to protect them,something must be done.
Save water. Water is the source of life. No water, no life. So it's very important for us to do so.Not only should we protect drinking water and stop polluting it, but also make full use of it.
Save electricity. It is crucial. We can't imagine what the life will be like without it.Everyone should do his best to save electricity. Don't forget to turn off lights or other electric machines when we finish working.
Save forests. They are useful .Please stop cutting them down and use recycled paper instead. Make our world a green one to live in.
Recycle useful rubbish. Plenty of rubbish can be recycled like cans,paper, bottles, and so on. We can save resources in this way.
&People often say that the earth is like our mother. She gives life to all the living things on the earth and provides us with air, food, water and other essential things we need for living.
Once she was beautifhl and rich, but now she becomes dirtier and dirtier, poorer and poorer. It is due to what we have done to her. Please have a good look at her: polluted rivers and lakes, growing deserts, the destruction of the forests and wild life, and the depletion of the ozone layer…
Can she bear to see her children putting the waste here and there? Can she bear too see her children cutting down the trees and destroying the grassland, to see the acid rain destroying everything? We should save the earth so as to save ourselves. the development of modern agriculture and industry, more and more waste water is being poured into rivers. It has caused serious pollution. The river is becoming so dirty that no living things can live in it. The river is giving off a terrible smell.
We make an urgent appeal that measures should be taken to cope with the situation. Our government should start building various facilities such as sewage treatment!plant and encourage scientists to work out more and better ways to reduce the pollution of water.
Water is tho source of our lives. It is very important to protect water.
我人们经常说地球就像我们的母亲。她给了地球上所有生物生命，给我们提供生活所必需的空气、食物、水和一切基本的需要。
曾经她美丽富饶，而现在她变得越来越脏，越来越贫脊，那都是我们造成的。请好好看一看她：受污染的江河湖海、扩张的沙漠、森林和野生生物的毁灭、臭氧层的耗尽……
她能忍受她的孩子到处乱扔废弃物吗?她能忍受她的孩子砍伐树木、毁坏草原，让酸雨毁灭一切吗?我们能忍受她遭受这样的痛苦吗?我们该问问我们自己，这就是我们对待母亲的方式吗?
洪水、干旱、酸雨……这些都是自然对我们的惩罚。每个人都应该清楚人类只有一个地球。如果我们继续这样对待她，她将不再适合我们居住了。是该我们好好爱她、照顾她、治疗她的时候了。我们应该拯救地球，以便拯救我们自己。 随着现代工农业的发展，越来越多的污水排进河里，河水被严重污染。河水变得如此的肮脏以致于生物不能在里面生活。河水发出难闻的气味。
我们急切呼吁采取措施改变这种状况。政府应当建立各种设备，例如污水处理厂，并且鼓励科学家们想出更多更好的办法以减少水污染。
水是生命之源，保护水资源十分重要。仅仅这些还不够。我们大家必须竭尽全力防止拉圾污染环境以及拯救我们的城市，拯救我们的家园。
