After collecting a detailed work order, Momentive’s technical staff can quickly help you identify optimal base compounds, facilitate formulation of a potential custom solution, conduct trial runs and review whether the material meets critical performance attributes, such as durometer, viscosity, tear strength and density.
The material you choose should be engineered to fit the application, not the other way around. Our custom approach to silicone formulations can help you design a material that meets the performance, processing and production demands of your product. Your application determines our approach to suggesting a formulation that can help meet your unique challenges.
This chemically inert class of materials exhibit excellent mechanical strength across a wide temperature range, and delivers outstanding resistance to aging. HCEs can be formulated in a wide spectrum of performance characteristics, colors and processing parameters.
Typical applications encompass automotive gaskets, boots and hoses, office equipment, wire and cables, HVI, profiled sections and food, pharmaceutical and healthcare applications.
Momentive’s family of LSRs is world class. As base materials for custom formulations, Momentive Custom Elastomer LSRs offer diverse solutions. The product line continues to expand, as recent advances have rendered these high end materials more cost competitive with latex, thermoplastic elastomers, and high-consistency silicone rubber.
RTVs deliver flexibility and high performance. Customizable cure speed and properties make RTVs excellent candidates to consider for sealing, bonding and protecting critical parts.
StatSil antimicrobial elastomer is a custom platform technology based on direct incorporation of a silver-based antimicrobial additive into a base silicone elastomer. You can choose from our globally recognized LIM* or Liquid Silicone Rubber and Heat-Cured Silicone Elastomers, ranging in durometers from 3 to 80 shore A. StatSil antimicrobial elastomers are excellent candidates for applications where high performance material solutions with built-in antimicrobial protection may be desired.
